How Process Gave Me Back My Days Off
Apr 14, 2024Let me tell you a secret...
This newsletter (yes, the one you're reading right now) used to ruin my weekend, every single weekend.
I don't like to work on weekends. I never schedule coaching calls on weekends. But my work week was so packed with calls that I always ended up writing my weekly email on the weekend.
It would take at least 3 or 4 hours, and it was always a drag. I had important things to say and wanted to get the message out, but boy was it painful.
Eventually I said screw that, I need my rest…so I tried to squeeze it in on Monday morning, but I just didn't have a 3 - 4 hour gap in my schedule.
My newsletter process wasn't working.
You know the feeling…
When you KNOW something is important but it just never seems to happen on time / smoothly / consistently / correctly / easily.
You try tweaking your approach, and it seems to help at first, but before long you're right back where you started. You're too busy to really get to the root of the problem, so you end up just ignoring it.
But what does ignoring it really mean?
Whether you realize it or not, it means choosing to live with…
Unnecessary stress.
Disappointed clients.
Missed opportunities.
Longer work days.
Unhappy staff.
Wasted resources.
And of course…less money in your pocket.
You probably think I'm exaggerating.
Well, let's go back to the story of this newsletter. When I finally acknowledged that I needed a better process, I took the time to step back and ask myself: what would it take to get this important task done in less time, with less stress and more consistency?
The lightbulb finally turned on: Madison, the ghostwriter of my books, could help me.
Now, I spend a grand total of 30 minutes a week on this blog. Madison and I meet every Monday, and I tell her what's on my mind. A few days later she sends me a draft to review, which rarely requires any changes. Then, as if by magic, the blog goes out every Sunday like clockwork.
Some weeks, a guest coach takes my place, and I don't have to do anything at all.
I can't overstate what a difference this new process has made for me and my business.
Yes, it costs money, but here’s why the price is well worth it…
It gives me at least 3 hours of my precious time back every week.
I no longer have any stress around my newsletter. In fact, I look forward to my weekly meeting with Madison and have more inspiration around what to say than I did before.
I can scale this process—I’m no longer limited to one email a week. We’ve already added a second email focused on role play, and we’re about to add a third one about building and leading teams.
Most importantly, the quality of the newsletter is higher and more consistent than ever before. That’s HUGE because these emails are the primary way I nurture my relationship with my audience and sell my paid coaching programs. In other words, better emails ultimately mean more revenue.
This is the epitome of sustainable, scalable, and stress-free…and it’s all thanks to GOOD PROCESS.
There’s one thing no agent can do, and that’s EVERYTHING.
The process mentality teaches you to think about how things could get done without you. If you had to delegate or automate a task, what’s the best, most efficient way to get it done?
That thought process is the magic pill when it comes to growing your business. The moment something can be done without you, or with less of you, your potential gets multiplied.
That’s exactly what you’ll learn in the Process Bootcamp with Ashley Donat.
You’ll learn how to streamline your operations to save time, energy, resources, and stress in EVERY part of your business.
Even if you don’t delegate anything, this is a HUGE win—one that’s well worth the investment in the program and more.
If you do have an assistant or support team, they’ll be able to do MORE for you, and do it better and more consistently, with less confusion and stress.
This program starts in just 10 days. Get in now, before the opportunity to dramatically streamline your business is gone!
Have a great week,
Steve
