In 2025, Are You Going for MORE or BETTER in Your Real Estate Business?

As we close out the year and look ahead to 2025, it’s time to make a decision, {{ first_name }}. 

I know the past few years have been challenging. The rules changed, the market stumbled, buyers and sellers sat on the sidelines…and all of that was completely beyond your control.

It still is. It always will be.

But what IS in your control is how you prepare, how you show up, and how you perform.

So here’s the choice in front of you for the coming year…

Are you going to focus on doing more—more effort, more chasing, more of the same?

Or are you going to focus on doing better?

I think you know which choice we advocate at Performance Coaching. So let’s talk about what it means to stop doing more and start doing better.

It comes down to three principles…

🔎 CLARITY

Know what matters most and strip away the rest. Less is more—that’s the essence of the Reduction Principle. Say NO to distractions, bad business, and anything that pulls you away from your mission.

👑  STANDARDS

Your standards are your guardrails. They are the backbone of your business and life. You will adjust to the standards you set—so set them high. Let your actions consistently align with those standards, ESPECIALLY when it feels challenging.

✅ ACCOUNTABILITY

True accountability starts with YOU. Hold yourself to the promises you make. Commit to consistent action and invite others to hold you accountable. Be someone who does what you say you’ll do, always.

You can apply those three principles to all 6 Building Blocks.

Remember, the Building Blocks are the ONLY 6 things you need to do to build a sustainable, scalable, stress-free real estate business.

Let’s take one last look at them before the year runs out.

1️⃣ Practice Mindfulness

Stay present. The past is gone, and the future is unwritten. All you have is the moment in front of you. Give it your highest and best.

Embrace challenges. Tough times are not here to break you—they are here to make you better. See obstacles as opportunities to grow.

Trust the process. You can’t control outcomes, but you can control your actions. Stay committed to the process, and trust that it will lead you to where you’re meant to be.

2️⃣ Optimize Time

Value time over money. You can always get more money. You can never get more time. This makes time your most valuable asset.

Choose high probability. Spend your time on the tasks that yield the greatest return—whether that’s deepening relationships, improving systems, or refining your skills.

Think long-term. Look at the big picture, the end game. As long as you keep your focus on the next deal, you’ll be stuck chasing, and chasing never works. 

3️⃣ Cultivate Relationships

Make human connections. Your clients are people, not commodities. Treat them like that, and they’ll do the same in return.

Stay in touch. This is a repeat and referral business. Long-term relationships are the fuel for your success. Make sure they don’t wither and die. 

Be ready. You don’t get to decide when someone is ready to buy or sell. Just make sure you’re ready to go when they are.

4️⃣ Embrace Standards

Raise the bar. Getting better comes from setting your expectations higher—for yourself, your team, and your clients. 

Set boundaries. Decide what you are and are not willing to do with your time, attention, energy, and money. They’re your resources—use them wisely.

Hold the line. If someone doesn’t respect your boundaries, that person is not the client, team member, or partner for you. Let them go.

5️⃣ Master Communication

Empathy first, always. It’s not about you—it’s about them. Listen before you talk. Use Tactical Empathy to show that you understand their perspective and respect their needs. 

Be a straight shooter. Don’t avoid, spin, or sugarcoat what needs to be said. Brace them for bad news, then deliver it.

You guide, they decide. You don’t need to think for them. You only need to understand what they’re thinking and give them the information they need to choose for themselves. 

6️⃣ Act Strategically

Align your goals. Personal, professional, and financial. Integration is the key to harmony. Let all your efforts in life be mutually reinforcing, not conflicting.

Leverage your advantage. Identify what makes you unique, execute it with consistency, and use it to create opportunities that align with your goals.

Trust the data. Your numbers will tell you what really works and what doesn’t. When it’s decision time, choose to operate on information, not instinct.

Ultimately, this all comes back to mastering the fundamentals.

It’s a process. Mastery never happens overnight.

So in 2025, don’t aim to be perfect. 

Aim to be intentional. 

Aim to be consistent. 

Aim to be better.
