Hi! I'm Lorin Ruttenberg.
I lead a top real estate team in west Los Angeles, and I've been in the business for over 20 years. The most powerful tool I've found in my career is Tactical Empathy, which is why I now coach other agents on how to master this game-changing communication style.
Work With Me"If you want an incredibly powerful and effective coach, you want to work with Lorin! She has an uncanny ability to see the truth and identify people's feelings. As a result, she makes people feel heard and deeply understood. Lorin is an exceptional coach who has clarity, focus, and the ability to see and identify where you need improvement and, at the same time, when you've hit the mark."

Lorin is an amazing coach. She has an incredible ability to teach listening skills, the first step to employing TE. For me, her methodology is much more helpful in learning how to embody an empathetic listener, articulate the clients feelings in terms of underlying emotions and how to use them in creating effective labels, than memorizing frameworks. Lorin teaches how to build perfect summaries and how to cross the street and really articulate another’s point of view. I love Lorin’s weekly role play and always get off the Zoom craving more.

FAQ
What's your story?
I've been a real estate agent in Los Angeles for 23 years. Prior to that I worked in the film industry, which is a great incubator for the real estate business. Both industries require you to chart your own path, think creatively, pivot often and handle people during heightened emotional, intense periods in their lives. It's the dynamic, ever-changing nature of real estate that I love!
What's the focus of your coaching?
My coaching focuses on developing high-level communication skills with Tactical Empathy. I run role-play groups in which participants get to work through real-world situations, sharpen their listening skills and improve their ability to deeply connect with their clientele. One of the pillars of Tactical Empathy is to demonstrate understanding by seeing the world through the eyes of another, and articulating what you see. This skill is so powerful not only in business, but in all relationships, that it has the potential to transform your life. That probably sounds hyperbolic. Nevertheless, that's what we're doing, one conversation at a time.
Who would be a great fit for your coaching?
Someone who wants to transcend the grind and the anxiety of real estate and bring a deeper meaning, purpose and sense of joy to their business. Someone who wants to work exclusively with clients who appreciate and trust you so that you can close deals without ever "selling" anything ever again.
Which of the 6 Building Blocks is your favorite?
Tactical Empathy is my favorite building block because by internalizing and practicing its principals I have grown as a person, become a much better listener and communicator and I am free from the worry and second-guessing of myself that plagued me for years.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I religiously practice Pilates and I also play pickleball. I love to attend live concerts and theater. I love to cook at home and to go out and discover authentic ethnic restaurants (which are plentiful in L.A.) and try cuisines that are out of my personal repertoire.
